Why are some companies so much more successful than others?

How does one company go from start-up to NASDAQ in just a few short years, while others never realize their full potential?

Responses could be varied and correct in a myriad of circumstances. Luck, fate, education, opportunity, resources, etc... Regardless, successful companies provide consumers with products and services that they either need or want. It is that simple. What makes one business more successful than another? Within the multitude of answers, two main points will always surface - capital and management. Companies will not be successful without both. Our goal is to provide an owner / operator or executive management team with an additional "executive" to assist in strategy, planning, and fundraising. Broad experiences, strong relationships, and access to deal-makers give Republic Advisors the requisite assets to assist those Small to Mid-Market firms that want to grow profitably the resources to do just that.

Championships are usually won by those teams/individuals that are fundamentally sound. The linebackers that tackle securely. The outfielders that hit the cut-off man. The golfer who, regardless of his backswing, has a square club face at impact. As blocking and tackling win football championships, so to do the fundamentals in business. Republic does not expect to know our client's industries better than they do. Rarely do coaches block and tackle as well as their players. Republic will not execute a sales and marketing plan. The coach's value to the team is on formulating game plans, contingencies, strategies, aces-in-the-hole, etc...His team has to execute the plans. Additionally, the coach can utilize the capital and expertise of his general manager to go out and find an acquisition that is integral to the ongoing success of his team. Republic is a coach and / or general manager.

While we will not sell your product or service, nor design / build another product or service for you to sell, we will get to know your personnel, your industry, and your finances as if we were a quarterback on your team. In doing so, we will be able to offer fundamental advice on operations, distribution channels, M&A, balance sheet structure, corporate financing and outside capital (debt or equity). In addition to this advice, we will leverage our resources and relationships to open doors that you could not or had not the time to open. Those doors may lead to sales opportunities, joint venture opportunities, acquisition opportunities, and increased capital opportunities. While we can assist you in getting through those doors (which is only 50% of the battle), the reality is that deals will only close due to strong management and the strength of the product and service your company is able to provide. We believe that Republic's strategy of combining financial advisory with business consulting gives us the best opportunity to help our clients succeed.

Heck, Tiger Woods even works with a coach. The best of companies obviously understand how to make and sell their product or service better than we do, just as Tiger is a much better golfer than his coach, but we know the fundamentals and we can offer you insights that you may be too close to see. Additionally, we have the luxury of working with a diverse group of companies that allows us to gain insights into areas that owner/operators and managers just don't get the chance to explore.
